LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday sought details of former caretaker prime minister Justice (r) Nasirul Mulk’s trip to Swat from his lawyer.

LHC Justice Mamun Rashid Sheikh summoned Mulk’s lawyer to present details of the trip after a petition was filed by Barrister Javed Iqbal Jaffery to recover “millions of rupees” spent on Mulk’s trip to Swat.

The court during the hearing also instructed the petitioner to provide evidence in support of his claim at the next hearing.

Earlier, the petitioner, in his arguments had also stated that Mulk used protocol for his personal affairs and overstepped his authority and claimed the former interim prime minister caused a loss to the national treasury by using a convoy of 22 vehicles during his visit to Swat.

The court summoned the respondent’s lawyer in the next hearing scheduled for August 30.
