A Pakistan Railways official has reportedly sought a leave for 730 days, citing the “attitude of new minister [Sheikh Rasheed] extremely non-professional and ill-mannered” as the reason.

The leave application doing rounds on social media states: “The attitude of new minister is extremely non-professional and ill-mannered. As an Honourable member of the Civil Services Academy of Pakistan, it is not possible for me to continue to work under him.”

The applicant further said that the minister is “fully entitled to work with a team that shares his vision”.

Reacting to the application, one of the users wrote: “I have worked for Railways for two years. Know the finest of civil servants there.
Muhammad Hanif Gul is one of them. Perhaps, more qualified, experienced and trained public service leader if compared individually with all of the cabinet members of the incumbent government. Hubert Humphrey fellow, MIT Alumni, Chevening scholar and a rarely candid officer is forced to do this. Pity, what a loss I see happening at the hands of a habitual turncoat, superclass sycophant and a crooked politician, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad.”
