A Punjab-level law college commission has opposed the de-affiliation of substandard private law colleges as proposed by a special commission set up by the Supreme Court, a local media outlet reported on Saturday.
Supreme Court Bar Association’s former president Hamid Khan led the committee set up by the apex court and recommended immediate de-affiliation of private law colleges across the country in order to reform legal education.
However, Law College Commission of Punjab said that de-affiliation will not result in legal education reforms but possibly result in old colleges with new names receiving grants.
