KP police chief in the run for Punjab IG post

The federal government has forwarded three names to Punjab government for the slot of Punjab inspector general of police (IGP).

As per details garnered, the names include Mohammad Tahir, Khalid Dad Lak and Faisal Shahkar. Tahir Khan is currently serving as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) IGP.

According to reports, the names have been changed twice. The authority to pick the most suitable candidate rests with Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.

After taking reins for the first time, Prime Minister Imran Khan is massively reshuffling bureaucracy of the centre and Punjab.

On the other hand, a retired or on-duty military officer is expected to be the next Intelligence Bureau (IB) director general (DG), whereas the transfers of many IB officials are also expected.
