Teaser of ‘Jugnu’ shows immense raw talent of movie makers in Pakistan

The teaser of the much-awaited movie, ‘Jugnu’ has been released and the one-and-half-minute long clip is colourfully intriguing showing story of a young boy named Bhura, his love of goats and his strained relationship with his mother.

The team behind this movie comprises talented emerging movie makers and story-tellers. The movie is directed by Ali Abbas Naqvi, written by Mir Areeb Ali and Naqvi, while Shajee Hasan is Director of Photography (DOP) and Saqib Hayat Rajput is Production Designer.

Talking to Pakistan Today, story-writer Areeb Ali said: “We have worked on the story of this movie for two years and spent almost a year in its production.”

“We are a team of youngsters and this is our first big project,” Ali said, adding that he has worked as a script supervisor in movie ‘Cake’, while Saqib is working on his next feature film.

One of the best aspects of ‘Jugnu’s teaser is its visuals, done by Shajee Hasan which takes you to a rather colourful but a haunting journey of love, relationships and life.

Talking about Jami, Ali praised him and said that Moor director has helped them in every possible way. “We are very thankful to him for believing us and our work.”

“We are also really thankful to ‘Media Retards Production’ along with ‘Azadfilm company’ as they supported us completely,” Ali added.

About the trailer, Ali said that it will be released very soon as they are currently editing it. “We are also planning to send ‘Jugnu’ in different movie festivals across the world so that they can know the talent and movie making in Pakistan,” he said.
