The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Saturday ordered Mirpurkhas Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) to conduct a probe into alleged harassment and attempted kidnapping of a Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) female student by three policemen.

Justice Salahuddin Panhwar directed the SSP to record the statement of the affected student, Shabnum Gul Jarwar, and in the light of her statement book and arrest the policemen.

The lawyer Syed Zeeshan Hyder Shah informed the court that on August 19 the policemen Rabnawaz Jatt, Haji Kumbhar and Jawed Jarwar tried to kidnap the girl from Mirpurkhas.

However, Jarwar began to shout and surrounded the policemen and foiled their alleged kidnapping bid.

Justice Panhwar gave 10 days to SSP Mirpurkhas to complete the probe and book the policeman under 154 CrPC.

Furthermore, the SHC ordered the provincial government to issue instructions to all SSPs in the province to ensure the protection of the female students and working women in the province.
