PHA to lease out eight cricket, football grounds due to financial constraints


RAWALPINDI: Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has decided to give on lease the solitary gym and eight cricket, hockey and football grounds in the face of worst ever financial crisis.

According to media reports, PHA has accorded approval to give on contract the washrooms and parking of public parks including Rawal road, Dhok Munshi, Shams Abad, Murree and Qari Khushi Muhammad park.

Grounds will be leased out to registered clubs of football and cricket from district Rawalpindi, cricket associations and sports clubs registered with Pakistan Cricket Board.

Offer about gym has been made to those having vast experience of a running gym.  The grounds which will be leased out include Cricket Stadium Comprehensive high school Dhok Kashmirian, Cricket Stadium Muslim Higher Secondary School Saidpur road, Cricket Stadium Boy’s Degree College Satellite town, Cricket stadium Rawal road, Cricket stadium public park Shams Abad, Football ground Rawal road, Artificial grass ground degree college 6th road and Rawal road gym.

The tenders for leasing out these grounds and gym will be opened on September 5, and contract of parking and washrooms will be awarded on September 6.
