JAKARTA: Pakistani athlete Nargis on Saturday won the bronze medal in Karate competition at the Asian Games 2018.
Nargis’s win brings home the country’s first ever bronze medal.
She won the medal after overpowering Nepal’s Rita Karki in women’s +68kg Karate tournament. This is now the second medal for Pakistan in the ongoing games.
Earlier, Pakistan thrashed Kazakhstan by a 16-0 in their third match of the Asian Games Hockey competition on Friday at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Sports Complex, Jakarta, Indonesia.
Previously, Pakistan beat Thailand 10-0 to record their victory in the opener of the tournament. Oman was defeated by national heroes in their second match by 10-0.
