Zardari upset over Nida Khuhro’s defeat in elections

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Friday voiced his disappointment over party’s performance in the July 25 elections Larkana, specially Nida Khuhro’s electoral defeat in PS-11.

Zardari expressed his dismay in a meeting held at Bhutto House the other day, which was attended by the elected MNAs, MPAs and local bodies’ chairmen and vice chairmen of Larkana Division

He also inquired about the performance of candidates and the strategies adopted during campaigns in the general elections.

He directed that whatever is needed to bring change to the party should be brought immediately. According to media reports, he also ordered the removal of some office-bearers of the party including Larkana mayor and district council chairman, instructing that only those should be elected who work tirelessly for the betterment of the masses and the party.

He further directed elected representatives to establish and broaden their contact with the people and their issues must be resolved at all costs to improve performance and complete ongoing development schemes immediately.

Zardari later on visited Garhi Khuda Bux accompanied by his two daughters Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari and Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, laid floral wreaths at the grave of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Earlier PPP Women Wing’s President and MPA Faryal Talpur also visited Garhi Khuda Bux and offered prayers at the graves of Bhutto leaders.
