Pakistan International Airlines Chief Operating Officer Zia Qader Qureshi who was sacked recently termed the termination of his employment contract “illegal and without due process” a local media reported.
He further demanded that his “official emails and phone be restored”.
The local media further reported that a letter was written to PIA’s Human Resources chief Asma Bajwa the COO said that “Asma Bajwa and PIA Chief Executive Officer Musharraf Rasool Cyan have acted with gross negligence and mala fide intention in terminating my employment contract”.
In his letter, he further said that his access to his official emails and computer system was terminated so he could not collect evidence to prove that the allegations levelled against him were not true and thus, he could not provide any “information to the National Accountability Bureau and to the auditors scrutinising various issues”.
The PIA had terminated Qureshi’s contract on Aug 17, saying that he had “failed to meet the objectives for which he had been hired and that he also could not attend the meetings held to review his performance”.
