Canadian Prime Minster Justin Trudeau spoke with Prime Minister Imran Khan via telephone and congratulated him on forming the new government in the country.
The Canadian prime minister on Tuesday tweeted that he discussed issues ranging from girls’ education, climate change, human rights, trade and refugees with Khan.
He further added that he had a ‘great phone conversation’ with the country’s new prime minister.
“Congratulations again, Imran, on forming Pakistan’s new government – I look forward to working together for people in both our countries,” he tweeted.

While speaking to Khan, Trudeau also appreciated Khan’s “illustrious career in cricket and politics and wished him well for implementing his party’s agenda for the welfare of Pakistani people” and “also underscored the contributions of over 400,000 Canadians of Pakistani origin in Canada,” a Press Information Department (PID) statement read.
