The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has allegedly upgraded the internet packages of customers in Rahim Yar Khan and increased charges without informing them, a local media outlet reported on Saturday.
According to reports, the problem started in April when a private company introduced internet services at inexpensive rates across the city and customers responded positively.
In response, PTCL introduced a new package which failed to garner much excitement from the public. The company then allegedly upgraded the packages itself.
PTCL Corporate Communications General Manager Fariha Tahir denied the company changed the packages without the consent of customers but added that packages are often upgraded without any associated price hike. She added that all customers are informed of a change in billing.
