According to reports, the traditional engagement ceremony will be followed by an engagement party in the evening with a white and gold theme.
Priyanka’s guest list for the engagement party include the team of her upcoming film, The Sky Is Pink, producers Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur, director Shonali Bose, and co-stars Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim. Ranveer Singh, Salman Khan’s sister Arpita Khan Sharma, Manish Malhotra, Raveena Tandon and cousin Parineeti Chopra are also expected to attend. Parineeti was spotted arriving at Priyanka’s house in the morning to be part of the official ceremony as well.
After the ceremony, Nick will return to America along with his parents while Priyanka will continue filming her Bollywood project.
According to a source, Nick came to India with his family because “It’s a tradition for them to meet before the wedding and Priyanka’s family insisted on hosting the Jonas family in their country. She [Priyanka] wants everything to be traditional to respect her family’s values, and definitely wants an Indian wedding.”
The engagement ceremony is taking place exactly a month after Nick popped the question on her birthday on July 18 in London where they had gone to celebrate Priyanka’s birthday. The two got engaged after a whirlwind romance of just two months.
Meanwhile, congratulatory messages have begun to pour in for the happy couple with Priety Zinta being one of the first to send her good wishes.
“Congratulations to my dear PC & Nick on their new journey together. Wish you both loads of love, happiness & togetherness always”, wrote Zinta, sharing a picture of the couple from their roka ceremony.
