Karachi suffers major power breakdown

KARACHI: Sindh’s provincial capital suffered a major power breakdown on Friday due to a transmission error, media reports said.

According to details, many areas of Karachi city plunged into darkness. These include Saddar, Garden, Federal ‘B’ Area, Liaquatabad, North Karachi, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Bahadurabad, Keamari, Kharadar, Meethadar, Soldier Bazar, Guru Mandir, Defence, Shershah, Malir and other areas.

Media reports said most of the city has been affected by tripping of the Bin Qasim transmission line.

It has also been reported that the red zone area, where Sindh Governor House and Chief Minister House are situated, are also suffering from the power outage.
