PM-elect Imran Khan’s sons not to attend oath-taking ceremony

Prime Minister-elect Imran Khan’s children will not be attending their father’s oath-taking ceremony which is set to take place at the President House on Saturday.

The decision was confirmed by Khan’s ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith who took to Twitter and responded to a query. “The boys really wanted to be there but their father told them not to come,” she said.

Khan’s sons Sulaiman Isa Khan and Qasim Khan have lived with their mother in London after since the couple got divorced in 2004. The nine-year marriage was ended as Jemima couldn’t adapt to her life in Pakistan.

In an interview, when asked whether he will bring his sons back to Pakistan with him, Khan had responded that Jemima had his sons’ custody, hoping that they will arrive when he gets elected as the premier.

Khan will take oath as Pakistan’s 22nd Prime Minister at President House, Islamabad. President Mamnoon Hussain will administer his oath in front of guests from around the world.

Indian cricketer, commentator and Khan’s old friend Navjot Singh Sidhu is among the many guests invited to attend the ceremony.
