Flood ruins crops spread over hundreds of acres in Sialkot district

Dozens of villages were inundated in Sialkot district after floodwater breached a protective dyke in Sambrial tehsil three days ago, a local media outlet reported on Thursday.

Irrigation Department officials have been directed to seal the 200-feet wide breach in the dyke.

Seasonal crops spread over hundreds of acres of land were also flooded.

The regional assistant commissioner has promised financial compensation for farmers.
