Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari gave his maiden speech in the National Assembly (NA) on Friday after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan got elected as the 22nd prime minister of Pakistan.
In his speech, Bilawal talked about various issues concerning the country and the expectations of people from Imran. He reminded Imran of his promises in PTI’s manifesto and said that he was anticipating the implementation of Imran’s 100-day agenda. He also paid tribute to those who lost their lives during the course of electioneering before the July 25 polls.
Following his speech, Twitter became flooded with tweets hailing Bilawal’s speech as mature and historic.
Once again, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari demonstrates more maturity & greater clarity about the process he is a part of than either IK or SS.
So grateful, as a Pakistani, that he spoke of Haroon Bilour, Siraj Raisani, Ikramullah Gandapur & all others martyred in terror attacks.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari just buried the PTI and its politics on day one. Now Shah Mahmood Qureshi can squeal all he wants.

What a speech, @BBhuttoZardari. Massive respect. I have to admit, there was dignity and grace in the way he spoke and how the PPP conducted themselves in the parliament today. The house needs to be shown respect. I hope for a day all parties are able to do the same.

Well said @BBhuttoZardari. Excellent speech. No jazbati antics, no reactive rhetoric. Shahbaz should accept what has happened. IK is PM. Period. Also time for IK to come down from the container. A change of tone and words are in order.

PPP’s Bilawal Bhutto Zardari pays a tribute to those killed in the run-up to the election. Ask for an investigation into each terrorist attack. Someone rising above toxic rhetoric.

I would like to start by paying tribute to Shaheed Haroon Bilour, the martyrs of the Mastung attack, to Shaheed Siraj Raisani, to Shaheed Inayatullah Gandapur, to the 32 martyrs who died in Election Day violence: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s maiden speech in Parliament

Simply loved Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s maiden speech at the floor of the House. Imran Khan should learn from him how to speak like a gentleman on floor of the House. @BBhuttoZardari

Excellent speech by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari today. It was more prime ministerial than Shehbaz Sharif and Imran Khan combined. However that does not absolve his party from the disastrous decision of abstention.

The only time when the house is quiet and people are actually listening…impeccable manners demand pin drop silence. Proud of u @BBhuttoZardari

Bilawal’s speech, however, could not escape criticism on Twitter.
Dear Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, thanks for the lecture on democratic norms just a couple of hours after you and your party refused to vote. PPP should have put forward their candidate for the #PrimeMinister Learn to walk the talk! Might I remind you of your daddy’s rhetorics too?

Being the grandson of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, and son of Benazir Bhutto and Asif Zardari, Bilawal’s contesting and winning, becoming an MNA and making a speech was a given, not making of history. https://t.co/U3u9I8dqDJ

Bilawal Zardari speech in a nutshell, as they say, talk is cheap.- Instead of delivering a speech in Assembly, he should have asked his father, why his party came out # 3 from # 1, ten years time span.
All the party supporters need to ponders as well. #bilawalbhutto
