Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) claimed on Wednesday that the name of Punjab chief minister (CM) candidate is being kept a secret on request of PTI ally Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), reported a local media outlet.
Imran Khan had agreed to PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi’s request of the candidate’s name not being made public until the elections for the slots of Punjab Assembly speaker and deputy speaker.
Elahi is also the joint candidate from PTI and PML-Q for the position of speaker.
Pervaiz Elahi thinks that party rifts may risk the two offices that have gained significance in wake of a strong opposition in the house, according to the report.
