LAHORE: Eidul Azha is just around the corner and three of this year’s biggest movies, Parwaaz Hai Junoon, Load Wedding and Jawani Phir Nai Aani 2 are set to hit theatres very soon.
This means that the promotions for the said movies are in full swing as the casts line up interviews after interviews with journalists and bloggers from across the country and interact with fans and audiences at different public venues.
However, some of the promotions have been marked by tensions and conflicts after a group of bloggers took to social media to call out Hania Aamir, one of the leading actors from the upcoming Parwaaz Hai Junoon for misbehaving with the media during a meet and greet with the team.
The bloggers posted a picture of Hania on their Facebook and Instagram furious with the way she allegedly behaved with not only the media but also the waiters at a local eatery where the meet and greet was taking place.
“It may be normal for celebrities to show up fashionably late at an event but showing up with an attitude is not acceptable,” several bloggers reportedly present at the said event commented.
According to witnesses present at the event, “Hania misbehaved with the bloggers when they asked to get an interview with them saying ‘all of you have the same questions so there is no need for an individual interview'”.
Moreover, the some of the witnesses claimed, “She even yelled at one of the waiters when he came to serve the food,” adding, that “this is no way to communicate with the media or anyone for that matter”.
In addition to that, the bloggers called for the public to boycott Hania, sharing the incident on social media with the hashtag #boyvcotthaniaamir.
Another blogger took to Facebook to express his anger saying, “We talk about promoting Pakistani Film Industry, supporting our artists but what about the actors who make the media wait for 2.5 hours and then throw tantrums.”
However, the film’s PR team denied the claims and said that sometimes things are not as big as they appear on social media. The team further added that social media usually ends up giving a one-sided picture as things tend to blow out of proportion there.
Parwaaz Hai Junoon boasts a stellar star cast which includes the likes of heartthrobs Hamza Ali Abbasi and Ahad Raza Mir, Shaz Khan and Kubra Khan. The film is said to be “a tribute to the brave sons of the soil who guard our skies and long for shahadat with pride in the line of duty.”
It is scheduled to hit the cinemas on August 22.
