NA-131 vote recount will show Imran ‘rigged’ July 25 polls, claims Saad Rafique

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) leader Saad Rafique on Wednesday claimed the nation will discover that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan rigged the 2018 general elections if a vote re-count in NA-131 was conducted.

“If votes were re-counted in NA-131, then people would have found out the truth about Imran Khan,” he said while speaking to media outside the Punjab Assembly in Lahore.

“The truth about Imran Khan is that he rigged the July 25 polls,” he claimed.

He accused PTI leaders of not being prepared for a vote re-count in the constituency, adding that “attempts were made to convince returning officers and the Supreme Court” to avoid a recount.

“They are trying to form a government through horse trading.” he said in reference to the PTI.

In response to a question, he said that PTI’s ‘Naya Pakistan’ was based on a “foundation of lies”.

“If we have to sit in opposition then we will but we will give Imran a tough time,” he added.
