The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to prepare a new plan regarding the auction of the authority’s land alongside IJ Principal Road but most of the land in question has reportedly been encroached upon.
CDA Chairman Ishrat Ali took notice of the issue while he was travelling on the road and was informed that the authority owned an 11km-long and 300ft-wide right of way (ROW) along with a 150ft-wide strip of commercial land.
A large area of the land has been encroached upon by persons who run bus terminals, hotels and car-wash stations on the encroached land.
CDA spokesperson Malik Saleem said, “The board decided for new planning parameters for our land along IJ Principal Road.”
“The planning wing has started its homework and after that, our enforcement wing will start operations to remove encroachments,” he added.
