PESHAWAR: The joint opposition on Tuesday nominated Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal’s (MMA) Member Provincial Assembly Mian Nisar Gul Kakakhel for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister.
Nisar Gul was nominated by JUIF-Leader and former CM KP, Akram Khan Durrani who will contest against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Mehmood Khan.
Gul was elected from Karak district on the ticket of MMA with vast political experience and administrative experience.
He had served as provincial minister for Prisons after winning 2008 election as the independent candidate and later joined Awami National Party’s (ANP) government.
He was elected MPA for the first time on PTI ticket in 2002 elections and became the parliamentary leader of his party during 2002-2008 when PTI and MMA made alliance at that time.
The nomination papers for the office of CM would be submitted on Wednesday and next CM would be elected soon after completion of the speaker and deputy speaker election in KP Assembly.
