As many as 139 members, roughly 41 per cent of the National Assembly, took oath for the first time on Monday, a local media outlet reported.
Approximately 102 of the 139 newly elected members directly contested the elections while 37 were selected on reserved seats.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) represented 67 members followed by 16 from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). 13 of the newly elected members were from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), eight from Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), two from Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and one from the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).
