Sanjrani thanks Saudi govt for granting scholarships to students of Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani has thanked the Saudi government and Saudi king on the award of scholarships from the Saudi government for students of Balochistan and said that Saudi Arabia has stood with Pakistan in difficult times.

According to the statement, the chairman said that announcement of scholarships for students of Balochistan on his special request reflects the fact that Saudi Arabia attaches great importance to its relations with Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention here that Saudi Arabia is also considering to increase the Hajj quota for Pakistan next year.

The scholarships of graduate and undergraduate level will be given to students in order to help realise the dream of higher education of poor students from remote and backward areas of the province in the best universities of Saudi Arabia. These scholarships will not only include educational expenses but would cover also all other costs, and students will be given a monthly honorarium, said the statement.

The Senate Chairman further stated that these scholarships will be doubled next year in order to provide educational facilities for more students.

Saudi Ambassador Nawaf-bin-Saeed al-Maliki met last week with Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani when the chairman requested for provision of these scholarships.

In two-day time, Saudi ambassador had sought approval of his government for the award of scholarships and had a meeting with the Senate chairman to apprise him about this.

The chairman further stated that the joint efforts of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia would help facilitate the process of lasting peace in the region and the region’s peace is vital to the growth and prosperity.

Sanjrani also appreciated the efforts of the Saudi ambassador to promote better relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
