MQM-P, GDA to support Haleem for Opp leader slot

KARACHI: Senior Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-P) leader Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan has said that his party and the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) have unanimously decided to support Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Haleem Adil Sheikh for the slot of the opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly.

Talking to media persons on Sunday, he said that the opposition parties would jointly strive and struggle for the legitimate rights of the voters in Sindh. He said that they would jointly raise the voice of the people in and outside the assembly.

“We will also ensure that the ruling party works in the best interest of the province,” he told a questioner. On Saturday, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) nominated Syed Murad Ali Shah for the post of the chief minister, besides naming Agha Siraj Durrani and Rehana Leghari as the speaker and the deputy speaker of the Sindh Assembly respectively.
