CM Askari directs foolproof security plan for Independence Day

LAHORE: Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Dr Hasan Askari Rizvi said on Sunday that foolproof security arrangements will be made for Independence Day to ensure the protection of life and property during the special occasion.

In a press statement, he said that every necessary step must be taken to ensure peace and no stone should be left unturned in implementing the deviated security plan in the present circumstances.

He stated that along with the public places, special attention would be given to the security of sensitive places. He ordered that all the processions must be monitored through CCTV cameras and that the police authorities must be physically present in the field to monitor the security arrangements.

He directed that special arrangements be made for ensuring the smooth flow of traffic at Murree and other historic and recreational places. All possible steps should be taken for the protection of life and property of the masses and all the resources be utilized in this regard he added.

The caretaker CM directed to adopt all available resources in order to ensure safety for life and property of the public on Independence Day. Likewise, he ordered to derive a comprehensive traffic plan for the smooth flow of traffic in all cities. Senior police officers of security and traffic are directed to monitor all arrangements by themselves. He said the freedom is a great blessing and brave nations cherish their Independence Day with full zeal and zest.

“We are intended to celebrate Independence Day and create an environment of festivity in order to pay tribute the heroes of Pakistan movement are engraved with the sacrifices of our forefathers. Along with celebrations of Independence Day, we are intended to decorate the buildings in a unique way,” he added.

CM Askari further shared that one wheeling and aerial firing will not be allowed and strict action will be taken against violators. He directed the police and district administrations to consider those involved in one wheeling and aired firing.

CM EXPRESSES GRIEF OVER DEATH OF SHAMIM ARIF:

The interim CM has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Saraiki writer, critic and poet Professor Shamim Arif.

In his condolence message, he extended his heartiest sympathies to the bereaved family. He also prayed eternal piece for departed soul and patience for lamenting family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
