RAWALPINDI: An exhibition of rare photographs based on Pakistan Movement has been kicked off under auspices of the Rawalpindi Arts Council here on Saturday to mark the Independence Day celebration.
Assistant Commissioner Umer Sherazi accompanied with Naheed Manzoor inaugurated the exhibition. The exhibition contains more than 100 photographs from 1857 to 1948 have been put on display at the RAC Art Gallery till August 14.
Addressing on the occasion, the assistant commissioner said that Pakistan was the result of sacrifices of the ancestors and visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said that every Pakistani should think of Pakistan first and participate in its progress and prosperity.
Naheed Manzoor said that anyone can observe that how Pakistan was achieved after great struggle. The council will arrange a cultural show on Sunday (August 12), Ghazal night by Munni Begum on August 13, a musical gala on August 14 while Jashan-e-Azadi Mela from Sunday to Tuesday (August 12-14).
