Kangana Ranaut wishes Imran Khan best of luck

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, who has strong political views, wished Pakistan’s prime minister-to-be, Imran Khan all the best and hoped for friendlier, more peaceful relations between the two neighbouring countries.

Responding to a question regarding the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman at a recent event, Kangana said, “We can only hope that we shed no more blood.”

“It’s unfortunate that our soldiers are dying. But, the kind of speech Mr Imran Khan has given is very nice and I wish him all the best and with folded hands, I appeal, that we have a beautiful relationship,” she said.

Kangana’s comments come as a surprise considering she was one of those who supported the ban on Pakistani artists in Bollywood.

Meanwhile, Imran will be sworn in as prime minister on August 18, the PTI said on Friday while announcing it has the numbers to form a coalition government in the centre.

Earlier the party had said that Imran has invited Indian cricketers Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar and Navjot Singh Sidhu to his oath-taking ceremony.

Among them, Sidhu has confirmed that he will be attending the ceremony, subject to visa approval. Gavaskar, on the other hand, excused himself due to prior commitments.

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan was also rumoured to have been invited but in an interview with an Indian media outlet, Khan said that he had received no invite, further stating that he would not be able to come because of a big event he has lined up with the NGO he works with.
