LAHORE: Five of the Barki quintuplet murder accused surrendered to police on Saturday while their four accomplices are still at large.
DSP Nazar Abbas said that five out of the nine culprits visited the office of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Investigation and presented their arrest.
Those who surrendered were identified as Iftikhar, Waqar, Qadeer, Zulfiqar, and Ashraf.
The DSP said that information was being collected from the detainees to arrest their other cohorts; however, reports claimed that they had fled the country.
Last week, five of the same family had been killed following a property dispute clash in the Barki area of the provincial capital.
The victims’ family, while blocking the road outside the Punjab Assembly with the dead bodies, had protested the killings, after which Operations DIG had taken notice of the incident.
The funeral prayers of the victims had also been targeted when unknown assailants had opened fire at the participants.
