Four suspects involved in alleged sexual assault of a 22-year-old woman in the Islamabad’s F9 Park were handed over to police on Thursday under a 14-day judicial remand, a local media outlet reported.
The four suspects were arrested on Wednesday and had confessed to trying to blackmail the woman by threatening to accuse her of indecency.
Two of the suspects were guards employed at the location by a private security company while the other two were employees of the City District Administration. They took a Rs2,000 bribe from her and told her to vacate the park via the forest where one of the men raped her, according to the FIR.
One of the men later informed police about the location of the crime.
Caretaker Prime Minister Justice (r) Nasirul Mulk condemned the incident and directed the interior ministry to conduct a detailed investigation.
