Suspects involved in killing of Barki family placed on blacklist

LAHORE: The names of the suspects involved in the killing of five family members in Phulran village near the city’s Barki area were put on the blacklist on Thursday.

The measure was taken on the request of investigation police as the tensions gripped the people of the area after the reports of intense firing at the funeral prayers for the five family members who were gunned down on Tuesday.

Earlier, the first information report (FIR) was filed under the anti-terrorism act including a clause of murder and various others but Punjab police remained to fail to arrest any of the suspects of the brutal incident.

It is pertinent here to remember that on August 7, at least five people of the same family were gunned down in Lahore’s Phularwan area.

Two groups opened fire at each other following a brawl over a property issue.

Getting information about the mishap, police personnel arrived at the scene and shifted the bodies to the hospital for the further procedure.

The deceased were identified as Qurban, Abdul Rasheed, Bashir, Tanveer and Qadir Ali.
