LAHORE: Former prime minister and leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Raja Pervez Ashraf Thursday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan should be given a chance to rule as he has got a majority in the parliament.

Speaking to media after appearing before Accountability Court in Lahore, Pervez Ashraf said that the PPP gave jobs to poor people in its tenure, which isn’t wrong in any way. He added that he appointed 437 people as per law in PEPCO.

The former PM further stated that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari showed sensibility in the election campaigns as PPP wants to strengthen democracy in the country.  He was of the view that many parties accepted the results of General Election 2018, therefore, the PPP would also go to the parliament.

Earlier, Pervez Ashraf appeared before the accountability court with his counsel. The court recorded the statement of a witness of NAB in the court.

The former premier was allowed to leave the court earlier as he was scheduled to attend a meeting in Islamabad.
