Doctor decapitates baby’s head during birth in Quetta

A female doctor mistakenly decapitated the head of a baby leaving the body inside the womb and its head in her hands during childbirth on Wednesday.

The body, however, was later removed through surgical intervention in Quetta’s Civil Hospital.

Abdul Nasir, the baby’s father, claimed that the staff of the hospital refused to give a medical report to him.

The dejected father added that he rushed to the Quetta Press Club to lodge his protest media.

The family’s relatives protested and called for action against the staffer’s negligence.

Nasir went on to say that his wife was then taken to Dr Alia Naz Taran’s private clinic who demanded Rs10,000 for the delivery.

The doctor also ensured that the delivery would be normal with no complications. The father claimed that the doctor ripped apart the head and body of the newborn.

He also said that after the baby’s maimed body was left inside the mother’s womb, the doctor advised us to take her to the Civil Hospital Quetta for surgery.

The patient was then shifted to the hospital where the body was taken out of the womb following a surgical procedure.

Nasir has implored the chief justice of Pakistan, the governor and chief minister Balochistan to give them speedy justice.

Sources in Killa Saifullah said that the accused doctor is also working as the deputy district health officer.

Furthermore, it is also believed that she is mostly absent from the government hospital apart from polio campaigns, preferring to run her private clinic.

Meanwhile, Caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan Alauddin Marri has taken notice of the matter and ordered a high-level probe into the incident.

When contacted, the Caretaker Provincial Health Minister Faiz Kakar said that he was going to civil hospital in person to investigate the after which strict legal action will be taken against those found responsible.
