AJK PM, PkMAP chief Achakzai denied permission to meet Nawaz in jail

RAWALPINDI:  Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Raja Muhammad Farooq Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai were denied permission to meet former prime minister Nawaz Sharif at Adiala Jail on Thursday.

He reached Adiala Jail along with Senator Usman Kakar, however, both were denied permission to enter.

Speaking to media, “I have been in Islamabad for the past two weeks and have been denied permission to meet Nawaz each time I have tried.”

He added that inmates had every right to meet people and “this is no way to treat a three-time prime minister.”

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif will meet Nawaz in jail on Thursday. Other PML-N leaders Marriyam Aurangzeb, Abid Sher Ali, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Saad Rafique have also arrived at Adiala Jail to discuss further course of action.

On July 6, Nawaz Sharif was convicted in Avenfield reference case to 10 years in jail while his daughter, Maryam Nawaz was given seven years in jail. and her husband Capt Safdar one year.
