A few days back, the video of a local painter, Muhammad Arif, singing Chana Mereya from the Bollywood film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, took social media by storm, winning hearts across the country as well as on the other side of the border.

In a recent interview, Muhammad Arif revealed that he has been singing for the past 12 years and was hoping to get a platform to showcase his talent. And it appears that his dreams might just be coming true after all.

It has been reported that Arif is all set to open Pakistani singing sensation Aima Baig’s Independence Day show, scheduled to take place in Lahore.

In a video posted to social media, Aima says, “When I heard him, I fell in love with his vocals. I think he’s super talented and everyone should [support] him.”

She further went on to say she requested Nabila and Munib Nawaz to give him a makeover for the concert and they have both agreed to lend their support.

It is pertinent to mention that Aima took up the matter after rumours emerged earlier in the week that Arif would be performing alongside her on August 14. However, Arif’s manager had refuted them saying that nothing of the sort had happened.

Arif became a social media sensation when Facebook page, Akbar Tweets shared an 11-minute-long video of him singing while painting the walls.

Meanwhile, Aima is regular on the Pakistani music scene, having lent her vocals to a variety of Pakistani films, the most recent being Ali Zafar and Maya Ali’s Teefa in Trouble. She is also all set to appear in Coke Studio’s Season 11 to be aired this month.
