Rain-thundershowers likely across province

LAHORE: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain-thundershowers with gusty winds across the province during the next 24 hours.

According to the Met Office, rain-thundershowers with gusty winds/dust storms are expected at isolated places in Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, DG Khan, and Bahawalpur. Heavy fall is also expected at a few places in AJK.

As per the synoptic situation, seasonal low lies over northwest Balochistan while strong monsoon currents and a westerly wave are continuously penetrating upper parts of the country.

Experts have said that rainy weather would persist for the next few days. They have also advised farmers to take all measures to protect their standing crops and vegetables from damaging effects of rain.

Rainfall (mm) recorded during the past 24 hours was 33 in Murree, 25 in Mangla 25, 12 in Jhelum, Sargodha (A/P 08, City 07), Rawalpindi (Chaklala, Shamsabad 05) and 01 in Mandi Bahauddin.

The maximum temperature in Lahore on Wednesday was recorded at 30 degree Celsius.
