ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has established a political wing for the scrutiny of expenses incurred by winning candidates during the election campaign in general election 2018.
The wing will conduct scrutiny of the electoral expenses in 90 days.
According to sources, if the political wing failed to complete the investigation in 90 days, then the details provided by candidates will be considered correct.
Under election laws, expenses limit for National Assembly seat were fixed at Rs4 million and for provincial assembly seat Rs2 million.
Earlier, the ECP had issued the notification of winning candidates in the election and halted the result of those constituencies in respect of which the courts had issued stay orders.
According to ECP authorities, the notification of winning candidates in general election has been uploaded on the website of electoral watchdog.
