The caretaker government in Punjab has decided to amend the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) Act 2012 by moving the authority’s chairmanship from the chief minster to the chief secretary, a local media outlet reported.
In addition to the aforementioned change, the Punjab local government secretary would be the secretary to the authority and the Mayor of Metropolitan Corporation of Lahore will replace the City District Government Lahore Nazim.
However, reports suggest that the upcoming government may reverse or make its own changes to the WCLA Act 2012 making the aforementioned amendments meaningless.
