KARACHI: Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Sindh in collaboration with World Food Program (WFP) on Monday started its campaign for long-lasting insecticidal nets for malaria deterrence.
In this regard, a three-day micro planning workshop and orientation on digital data collection concluded at a local hotel. The purpose of the workshop was to train the PRCS staff and volunteers on digital data collection for expediting the process.
The workshop briefed the audience about the Red Rose Software by International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) to collect and manage data. The software is being implemented to bring transparency in the system and expedite the process for emergency response in the future.
PRCS Provincial Secretary Kanwar Waseem and Honorary Secretary Farooq Memon attended the closing ceremony and distributed certificates among participants.
PRCS will distribute 1.47 million LLINs amongst 2.64 million people in Sindh with the support of WFP in high-risk areas including Mirpurkhas, Sujawal and Thatta.
The first phase of the project is to train the staff and volunteers of PRCS which will then be followed by registration of the beneficiaries in targeted districts.
