ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and prime minister-elect Imran Khan has decided to invite his teammates of 1992 World Cup winning team at his oath-taking ceremony.
According to a private news channel, Khan wants to see the team at the ceremony reportedly going to held on August 11.
Under the order of Imran, PTI leader Faisal Javed has started contacting the former cricketers to check their availability for the ceremony.
Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Ramiz Raja, Inzmamul Haq, Aqib Javed, Mushtaq Ahmed, Ijaz Ahmed, Saleem Malik, Zahid Fazal, Iqbal Sikandar, Wasim Haider and Amir Sohail are among the players to be invited.
Imran-led PTI grabbed 115 seats in Pakistan 2018 general elections and after getting the support of independent candidates, the party is set to form the government in center, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
