Rejected votes higher than margin of victory in 49 NA constituencies: FAFEN

In 49 constituencies for National Assembly (NA) seats, the number of rejected votes was higher than the margin of victory, according to a Free and Fair Elections Network (FAFEN) report.

As much as 1.67 million votes in total were rejected in the general elections 2018, the report also revealed.

In the 2013 general elections, 1.5 million votes had been rejected which was 11.7 per cent less than this time around.

Balochistan saw a 40pc increase in the number of rejected votes while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) saw a 30.6pc increase, Sindh 7pc and Punjab 6.6pc.

These constituencies include 26 from Punjab, 11 from Sindh, six from Balochistan and six from KP.
