One of the biggest hits of 1990s, Sarfarosh is all set to get a sequel and it has been confirmed that director John Matthew Matthan will be working on Sarfarosh 2 which will feature John Abraham in the lead.
Sarfarosh starred Aamir Khan in the lead along with Naseeruddin Shah and Sonali Bendre.
According to a report in Mid-Day, John was quoted as saying, “John Mathew Matthan and I are co-producing the film. We are still working on the script, but, yes, it’s happening with me. We plan to go on floors next year. He is probably the only director whose house I went to after watching Sarfarosh.”
John has recently been signing films that centre on patriotism and national defence. Sarfarosh had dealt with cross-border terrorism and it reportedly took the filmmakers seven years of research to make the film.
John Abraham will next be seen in Satyameva Jayate, which is slated to release on August 10. He is also a part of Batla House, which is about the Batla House operation, followed by Romeo Akbar Walter – RAW, which is directed by Robbie Grewal.
Speaking about his choice in films, the actor said, “This is probably an inflection point in my career where I can say, at least in terms of the cinema that I’m getting out as a producer, as an actor, the next five years are probably going to be my best years.”
