Exemption plea of accused in railways land corruption case accepted

ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court (AC) in Islamabad on Friday heard railways land corruption case and accepted the exemption plea of the accused who are currently abroad.

Some of the accused in the case appeared before the AC while others remained absent upon which AC Judge Mohammad Bashir expressed anger.

Lieutenant General (r) Javed Ashraf Qazi, Lieutenant General (r) Saeed Al Zafar, Major General (r) Hamid Butt appeared before the court.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor told the court that they had summoned the accused on July 27 but have not yet received the delivery report. The accused are currently in Malaysia.

AC Judge Mohammad Bashir asked what ought to be done in this regard? Then he remarked to publish the advertisement in international newspapers.

The AC then accepted the plea of exemption from appearance in the court and adjourned the case till September 13.
