ISLAMABAD: Senator Mushahid Hussain on Friday said that the Joint Action Committee, comprising representatives of nine political parties, had agreed to form “Pakistan Alliance for Fair and Free Elections” against the alleged rigging carried out in the July 25 polls.
In a tweet, Mushahid, a member of the Joint Action Committee, said the alliance comprising major parties including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Muttahida Majlis Amal (MMA) and Awami National Party (ANP) would chalk out a programme of action for protests, both inside and outside the parliament.
He said basic decisions had already been taken by the central leadership of parties at the All Parties Conference (APC) on Thursday. “The Action Committee was tasked to do follow up, including finalising names, specific actions and way forward and all of this has been agreed unanimously, in a cordial atmosphere and through democratic consensus,” he added.
