The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP) government has been directed by the Peshawar High Court (PHC) to compensate the families of the 2014 Peshawar Army Public School (APS) victims like the families of school employees as part of the Special Shaheed (martyr) package, a local media outlet reported on Thursday.

The PHC bench observed that there had been discrimination in terms of provided compensation against families of the students.

A petition by Ajun Khan, father of an APS attack victim, sought the same package as that given to school employees such as APS Principal Tahira Qazi.

The case was decided on July 17.

The 2014 Peshawar APS attack martyred a total of 144 people, most of whom were school children.
