20 killed, 40 injured in Afghanistan mosque blast

KABUL: A suicide bomb blast at a mosque in the Gardez city of Afghanistan’s Paktia province on Friday resulted in the deaths of 20 people and injured another 40, TOLO news reported.

According to Paktia Police Chief Raz Mohammad Mandozai, the attack occurred inside a mosque during Friday prayers at around 2 pm.

Eyewitnesses report that over 30 people were killed and another 100 injured in the attack.

No group has yet admitted responsibility for the attack.
