Army satisfied with military-level engagement with Afghanistan

RAWALPINDI: The top brass of the Pakistan Army has expressed satisfaction on military-level engagement with Afghanistan for regional peace during the 212th Corps Commanders conference at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa chaired a high-level huddle of the military commanders wherein the geo-strategic environment in the region, regional peace and internal security of the country were reviewed.
The COAS also directed all commanders to continue consolidating the gains made against militancy in the war against terror, according to the military’s media wing.

General Bajwa also appreciated the performance of Army Elections Support Centre (AESC) during the recently conducted general elections. The attendees appreciated the efforts of AESC and field formations for providing support to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Furthermore, tribute was paid to those who embraced martyrdom or suffered injuries in attacks during the polls.

 

The forum also thanked  ‘the brave people of Pakistan for their participation and wholehearted support for the armed forces’.
