Prosecutor resigns in treason case against Gen (r) Musharraf

ISLAMABAD: Prosecution counsel Mohammad Akram Sheikh tendered his resignation in the high treason case against former president and chief of army staff (COAS) General (r) Pervez Musharraf.

The counsel in his letter to the interior secretary said that that he was unable to proceed with the case because the federal government had changed.

The Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) government had appointed Sheikh as the prosecutor in the high treason case in November 2013.
