Usman Dar to move election tribunal

SIALKOT: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate from NA-73 Usman Dar on Monday announced moving election tribunal for the full vote recount in the Punjab constituency.

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) results, Khawaja Muhammad Asif of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has been declared as the winner from NA-73 constituency.

Addressing the media at Jinnah House, Usman Dar rejected the results announced by the returning officer, saying he would go for the total vote recount in the constituency through the election tribunal.

Criticizing the previous government, he alleged that the PML-N government did nothing for the welfare of people except for making tall claims. He said that the PTI won 2018 general election with a heavy majority and it would form governments in centre, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He claimed that former foreign minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif did nothing for the people of his constituency during the past five years. He did not construct a single hospital or provide any other facilities to people of Sialkot, he added.

He said that the PTI would wipe out corruption and corrupt elements from the country and bring back Pakistan’s wealth stashed abroad by the looters. He said that the people of Pakistan extended support to the PTI during the elections for curbing corruption in society.
