Twitter reacts to rumours of Justice (r) Nasira Iqbal becoming president

After Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) victory in 2018 general elections, a rumour is making rounds on social media that Justice (r) Nasira Iqbal, daughter-in-law of Allama Iqbal, is being considered as next president of Pakistan.

If this rumour turns into reality, she will be the first female president of the country.

Twitter reacted strongly to the rumour as numerous Twitterati expressed their happiness over the “reports” and urged PTI leadership to make it a reality.

Reacting to the rumour, TV anchor Rabia Anum Obaid wrote: “Justice R Nasira Iqbal for the President. Just the thought of it gives me an unbelievable happiness.”

Another social media user wrote: “First female president is on its way! Can’t wait for it!”

Showing his excitement, another user wrote: “Way to go… Let’s do it”.

Praising the reported decision, one said: “Such a good decision”.

Wishing the rumour to be true, one Twitter user said: “I really really really REALLY hope they make #NasiraIqbal the #FirstFemalePresidentOfPakistan. There are so many young girls all across #Pakistan who need a good role model to look up to”.

Another social media user wrote: “So is #Pakistan finally going to have a female head of state? #Justice (r) Nasira Iqbal’s name doing the rounds for the next President of Pakistan. She is the daughter-in-law of Allama Muhammad Iqbal. It makes sense to have #NasiraIqbal as #President of Pakistan! #PTI #ImranKhan

Talking about the real Tabdeeli, one user wrote: “Agr ye sach hai k ye #kabeena hogi to mtlb k sch mai tabdeeli agai 🙂 #AllamaIqbal #DaughterInLaw #JusticeRetired #NasiraIqbal #President of #IslamicRepublicofPakistan o.O 🙂 <3 Bhetreen hogya ye to (Y)”.

Expressing happiness over the “reports”, another user wrote: “Justice (R) Nasira Iqbal – President of Pakistan. Imran Khan – Prime Minister of Pakistan.” The thought itself gives me immense happiness and satisfaction about where my country is going. In sha Allah hopefully it comes true.”
